Joshua Scalise, 25, of Kunkletown, escaped serious injury in a one-car accident that happened early today in front of a home at 4445 Interchange Road/Route 209, Lehighton. Franklin Township Police Officer Jason Doll said that Scalise was traveling north when he veered off the road and struck a utility pole and a tree and rolled the car once or possibly two times before it landed on it's roof. Doll said the driver was coming home from work and may have fallen asleep. Scalise was checked by medical personnel at the scene. The driver complained of chest pain.
