A bus operating between Palmerton and Walnutport this evening overturned at the outskirts of Walnutport, on the main road at a place called Heimbach's. There were at least 50 men and 10 girls in the bus at the time of the accident. Many were cut by flying glass and bruised while one girl, Elsie McFarland of Walnutport, was believed to be seriously injured. The bus, an accommodation for many employed at the New Jersey Zinc Company plant, reportedly crashed on the approach to a small bridge as the bus tried to evad a truck.
