A Walnutport woman is facing theft charges after allegedly writing four bad checks.
Elizabeth Mullins-Motel, 41, of the 300 block of Washington Street, cashed four bad checks totaling $980 on April 20 and 21, according to Slatington police. The checks had been drawn from a closed account from Fort Sill National Bank in Oklahoma.Mullins-Motel had asked another woman she knew to cash the checks for her and provided her with cash because she had no permanent identification, court records say.Mullins-Motel was arraigned by District Judge Robert A. Hawke. She was sent to Northampton County Prison in lieu of $10,000 bail.
