Three people were injured in a one-vehicle crash at 8:46 a.m. May 11 on Interstate 80 in Kidder Township.
State police at the Fern Ridge barracks said Farlyn Laureano-Placencia, 19, of Hazleton, was driving a 1997 Toyota Corolla westbound when it left the roadway and struck a tree located in the center median of the highway. The car had to be towed from the scene.Police said the driver and two passengers, a 17-year-old male, and Eudomar Concepcion, 18, suffered injuries and were transported by ambulance to Geisinger Hospital in Wilkes-Barre. The severity of their injuries was not known, police said.Police said charges of driving under the influence of alcohol are pending against the driver. He will also be cited for driving violations.Concepcion and the juvenile were found to be in possession of illegal drugs.Troopers said they were charged with drug law offenses.
