Gun, ring taken in burglaries

State police at Lehighton are investigating three burglaries.

The Blue Ridge Auto/Sunoco property, located at 505 Little Gap Road, in Lower Towamensing Township, was entered and unknown items were removed from an impounded vehicle. The incident was reported at 6:50 p.m. on Sunday.Troopers said the residences of Jeff Cordery, 56, of 280 Twin Flower Circle, Kunkletown, Towamensing Township, was entered sometime between 5 and 11:59 p.m. on Friday, June 6. The criminals gained access to an unsecured safe located in the home. There were no signs of forced entry.The criminals removed a Smith & Wesson .357-caliber revolver with serial number CCV9854. The revolver is stainless steel with black grips.Also removed from the safe was a man's Movado watch with a square face and leather strips; and a 1976 Metuchen High School gold ring.The residence of Carolyn Mackes, 73, of 513 Kreger Road in Polk Township was entered by breaking the lock on the front door. Troopers said nothing appears to have been taken. Incident was reported at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, June 6.
