Schuylkill crashes

Two people wereseriously injured in a crash involving an all-terrain vehicle on Saturday. The crash was one of three investigated by state police at Schuylkill Havenalong Schuylkill County roads.

The ATV crash was reported at 6:40 p.m. along Valley Road in Foster Township. Troopers said Richard T. Valosin, 49, of Branchdale, was driving a 2005 Honda Rubicon eastbound and entering a left curve. The ATV left the road and struck a utility pole along the berm head-on.Valosin and his passenger, Marian G. Valosin, 51, of Pottsville, were seriously injured and flown by helicopter to the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.A two-vehicle crash occurred at 8:25 p.m. on June 2 along Route 901 (Pottsville-Minersville Road) in Branch Township. Troopers said Thomas J. Penberth, 48, of Pottsville, was driving a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee eastbound in the right lane when Andrew P. Wallace, 19, of Saint Clair, driving a 1998 Dodge Dakota pickup, turned left from a stop sign off a side street from a local used car lot, and pulled in the path of Penberth and a collision occurred.After impact the Dakota continued into the used car lot, striking a parked vehicle before coming to rest. The Jeep traveled across the westbound lane and came to rest along the shoulder.Wallace sustained a minor injury. Penberth and two passengers, Kerri A. Wesler, 39, of Pottsville, and a 7-year-old male, were injured and taken to the Schuylkill Medical Center-S. Jackson Street in Pottsville. Troopers cited Wallace.A truck and sport utility vehicle were involved in a crash at 7:10 a.m. on June 4 at the intersection of Route 61 and Pheasant Run Road in West Brunswick Township.Troopers said Kenneth M. Ruder, 65, of Orwigsburg, was stopped on Pheasant Run Road and then pulled out to go south on Route 61. As he pulled out he stopped for traffic in a construction zone. At this point Sean C. Maynard, 45, of Kennett Square, Chester County, driving a 2000 Freightliner, was northbound on 61 and struck Ruder's 2013 Toyota Highlander.Ruder, Maynard, and his passenger, Jose J. Galarza-Tirado, 31, of Whitehall, were all not injured.Troopers cited Ruder for a stop sign violation.
