A Schuylkill County driver escaped injury when his car caught fire and burned.

State police at Frackville said the incident occurred at 9:41 p.m. on Friday along Route 61, near Darkwater Road, in New Castle Township. Troopers said Anthony R. Citarella, 54, of Pottsville, was driving a 1992 Cadillac Deville sedan northbound when it burst into flames. Citarella was able to exit the vehicle unharmed while the car burned in the right northbound lane. The flames were extinguished by volunteers from the Saint Clair Fire Department.
