Arrest made in Schuylkill break-in

State police at Frackville reported an arrest was made in a Schuylkill County burglary that occurred late last year.

Troopers said at 1:25 a.m. on Nov. 2, 2013, the residence of Mary Anne McDonald, 2 James St., New Philadelphia, was entered and her purse stolen. The purse contained cash, bank cards and personal documents.The victim's bank card was subsequently used at different retail locations. Video footage depicted a man using the card, who was later identified as Jeffrey L. Vandegejuchte, 28. A warrant was issued for his arrest but he was not immediately located.Eventually Vandegejuchte was located in the Fulton County jail in Atlanta, Georgia. On June 24, troopers from the Frackville barracks went to Georgia and brought Vandegejuchte back to Schuylkill County.He was arraigned by on-call District Judge Stephen Bayer, of Tamaqua, and committed to the county prison in Pottsville after failing to post $50,000 cash bail.
