November 29, 1997 John Stanko and Brad Yuricheck combine to go 9-of-10 at the free throw line during the fourth quarter as Panther Valley hangs on to defeat Jim Thorpe, 54-53, in the consolation game of the Schuylkill Haven Tipoff Tournament. Stanko finishes with a team-high 16 points for the Panthers, who turn a six-point third quarter deficit into a seven-point lead in the final frame. Josh Black ends with 13 and is named to the all-tournament team. PV, coached by Cas Kosciolek, also receives nine from Brad Yuricheck.
