Road rage leads to DUI charge

A reported road rage incident has led to a charge of driving under the influence pending against a Schuylkill County driver.

State police at Frackville said the incident began about 9 p.m. on Sunday along the Burma Road near a shooting range, in Blythe Township.Troopers said John Michael Salata, 59, of Saint Clair, became involved in a verbal argument with another male at the shooting range. The argument led to Salata following the male in his vehicle south on the Burma Road into Saint Clair.Salata was following the other vehicle extremely close, troopers said. Saint Clair police were alerted by the county communications center and observed Salata tailgating the other vehicle in the area of Morris Street. Borough police then made a traffic stop on Morris Street.Troopers arrived and placed Salata under arrest for suspicion of DUI. Troopers took charge because the incident began in the township.Troopers said the DUI charge is pending the results of a blood test.
