A Schuylkill County man was jailed on Tuesday following a domestic assault incident.

State police at Frackville said troopers were dispatched to 17 Jerrys Road, in the village of Pattersonville, Union Township, at 9:55 p.m. for a report of a domestic assault. Troopers said George Samuel Beaver, 56, and his wife were involved in a verbal argument that turned physical.Troopers said Beaver struck his wife multiple times in the face as she held the couple's 11-month-old granddaughter.He was arrested on charges of simple assault, harassment and endangering the welfare of a child. He was arraigned before District Judge Christina Hale, of Frackville, and committed to the county prison unable to post bail, troopers said.
