A teen driver was cited following a two-vehicle crash that occurred at 1:17 p.m. on Sunday along Route 209 at the intersection with Cherry Hill Road in Franklin Township, Carbon County.
State police at Lehighton said Robert H. Roth, 82, of Palmerton, was driving a 2013 Toyota Prius northbound on 209 when a 17-year-old male from Palmerton, driving a 2004 Chevrolet Colorado pickup, was attempting to cross 209 by making a left turn.The front of the Prius struck the side of the Colorado. Roth sustained a minor injury but did not require immediate medical attention. The teen and his passenger, Paul B. Hunsicker, 67, of Palmerton, were not injured.Damages were severe to the truck and moderate to the car. Troopers cited the teen for a stop sign violation.
