A Schuylkill County teen was seriously injured in a one-vehicle crash at 4:10 p.m. on Wednesday along Route 61, south of Ridge Lane in North Manheim Township.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said a 17-year-old female from Orwigsburg was driving a Dodge Durango northbound on a straight section of road when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle drifted toward the shoulder. The teen overcorrected to get back to the northbound lane, and the Durgano began to slide, causing her to lose control.The Durango crossed back over the northbound fog line and hit the guiderail along the berm. It then continued along the berm, striking a tree and then hitting a small creek bank. The vehicle came to rest about 10 to 15 feet off the shoulder of the road.The teen was flown from the scene by medical helicopter to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, for treatment of injuries.
