A Tamaqua man involved in a domestic dispute landed in jail when police learned there was already a warrant issued for his arrest.
Borough police were dispatched to 247 Franklin St., at 6:22 p.m. on July 7. They first spoke with a woman, who told them her brother, Matthew Martin, had been involved in a fight with their father. When she tried to stop the fight, her brother, shoved her to the ground, where she hit her head.The father had visible injuries to his face.When officers searched Matthew Martin, they found six empty wax paper bags and two cotton swabs with possible blood on them. The warrant was discovered during a routine records check and the younger Martin male was transported to the Schuylkill County Prison.He was also charged with simple assault, possession of drug paraphernalia and harassment.Rush Township police assisted on the call.
