Tamaqua man arrested for assault

A Tamaqua man spent some time in the Schuylkill County Prison last week after he punched another man.

Police were dispatched to 529 N. Railroad St. at 4:45 p.m. on July 16 for an assault. Once on scene, they were told that resident Seth Valentine, 34, had punched another man, Frank Ditchey, in the face.Valentine admitted striking Ditchey and appeared to have been drinking alcohol. As officers tried to sort things out, Valentine continued making threats against Ditchey.He was arrested and arraigned before duty District Judge James Ferrier on charges of simple assault, harassment, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness. Bail was set at $10,000 straight, which Valentine was not immediately able to post.
