February 21, 1961 Tamaqua runs its winning streak to 15 straight games and clinches the Black Diamond League championship by rolling past Coaldale, 94-34. The Blue Raiders, coached by "Pinky" Purnell, only lead 5-2 after the first quarter but build their advantage to 26 points by halftime. George Barron pours in a game-high 23 points while George Tomchick collects 20 points. The winners also receive 13 points from Barry Storch and 10 from Bill Willing.
