A Monroe County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence following an incident that occurred at 5:23 p.m. Oct. 3 in Tobyhanna Township.
Pocono Mountain Regional police said officers on patrol observed a green pickup on Spur Road with the operator appearing to be looking down at a cellphone in his right hand.Officers followed the vehicle north on Locust Ridge Road and observed the driver commit several vehicle code violations and generally driving erratically.Police made a traffic stop and identified the driver as David Humes, of Pocono Lake. He was found to be under the influence of alcohol and was placed under arrest. He was taken to the county DUI center for a blood test. The result of the test showed Humes had a 0.24 BAC. Charges were filed.
