Monroe man facing numerous charges

A Monroe County man is facing numerous charges following an incident that occurred at 7:45 p.m. on July 25.

Pocono Mountain Regional police were dispatched to 4142 Falcon Terrace in Tobyhanna for a report of shots fired. Additional information provided to responding officers was that a man was outside his residence yelling derogatory slurs at neighbors and then shot a firearm several times.On scene police identified the suspect as Mohammad Shah, 45, of that address. When police arrived Shah retreated inside his home. He was talked out by police and arrested.A search warrant was obtained for his home. A handgun, which was determined to have been stolen, was found, and was consistent with information provided by witnesses.Shah was charged with terroristic threats, person not to possess firearms, firearms not to be carried without a license, receiving stolen property, possessing instruments of crime, ethnic intimidation and disorderly conduct.He was arraigned before a district judge with bail set at $75,000.
