Orwigsburg man cited in Tamaqua

An Orwigsburg man was cited following an incident in Tamaqua on July 24.

Police were dispatched to 112 N. Greenwood St. at 4:40 p.m. after someone called to report a fight between two males and a female. At the home, officers found Brent Evans, 43, of Orwigsburg, Wendy Ann St. Peter and Eldon St. Peter.Eldon St. Peter told officers Evans had come to his home and pounded on his door. When he answered, St. Peter was shoved, then punched in the face. Evans then threatened to go home and get a gun, walking toward his vehicle.That's when officers arrived.Evans told police he was defending Wendy Ann St. Peter. He admitted threatening the other man with a gun, but told police he didn't really have a weapon. He appeared to have been drinking.He was arrested on charges of simple assault, stalking, harassment, criminal trespass, and disorderly conduct. Due to the unavailability of a duty district magistrate, Evans had to be released with a warning, with charges filed at a later date.
