A Virginia driver is facing charges following a traffic stop along Interstate 80 in Tobyhanna Township that occurred at 8:03 p.m. on July 25.

State police at Fern Ridge said Kenneth Maldonado, 27, of Newport News, was stopped for speeding while westbound. At the stop troopers said Maldonado showed signs of driving under the influence of a controlled substance. Also, troopers found him in possession of a small amount of marijuana.DUI and drug possession charges are pending, troopers added.
