Pocono Mountain Regional police reported the arrest of a Monroe County woman for false reports to law enforcement.

At 12:41 a.m. July 14, officers were dispatched to the Walmart store in Mount Pocono for a report of a woman being held at gunpoint. Further information supplied to responding officers said the woman was being forced into a vehicle to drive the suspect to her home to get money for a drug deal gone bad.Officers made contact with the woman, Ashley N. Wheelis, of Henryville. While questioning her, it became clear to the officers that she was not being truthful. After further questioning, Wheelis admitted making up the whole story to try to get money from her mother to purchase illegal drugs. She was then charged, police said.
