State police at Lehighton are investigating several theft incidents.
Troopers said seven black Deka car batteries were removed from two work trucks located under the Thomas J. McCall Memorial Bridge at the intersection of Line and Allen streets, in Weissport. The thefts were discovered at 7 a.m. Sunday. The batteries are the property of J.D. Eckmans Construction Inc.Troopers said two commercial size air conditioners were removed from the rear of the building at 1146 Interchange Road in Polk Township. The building has been vacant for about five years, troopers noted. The property is owned by Katherine A. Young, 58, of Sciota. The theft occurred sometime between Aug. 10 and 15.Troopers said unknown criminals removed a battery from a farm tractor parked in a field off Weir Lake Road, southwest of Roth Road, in Ross Township. The criminals then set the tractor on fire and slashed the rear tires. The incident occurred sometime between Aug. 10 and Aug. 17.Three Goodman Manufacturing condensing units, located outside a home at 308 Gower Road in Eldred Township, were stolen sometime between Aug. 10 and Aug. 17. The home is owned by Ian Carroll of Allentown.Anyone with information concerning any of these incidents is asked to call troopers at 610-681-1850.
