Incident in Lowhill keeps police busy

State police at the Fogelsville barracks were summoned at 9:15 p.m. Aug. 5 to the area of the Leather Corner Post, 6855 Horseshoe Road, Lowhill Township, for a harassment incident, and ended up taking a New Tripoli man into custody for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Police said they were summoned when a 32-year-old male and a 35-year-old female, both from New Tripoli, became involved in a verbal altercation that continued into a front parking lot at the above location. Police said the female attempted to exit the parking lot, at which time the male held onto the vehicle's door but fell to the lot as the female fled the scene. He was uninjured.Police said the female was stopped a short time later, was determined to be under the influence of alcohol, and was taken into custody.Police said the Lehigh County District Attorney's Office was contacted and did not approve charges related to the altercation.
