State police at the Lehighton barracks reported a traffic stop made at 6:08 p.m. Wednesday along oute 209 near the Towamensing/Franklin Township line in Carbon County resulted in one person being jailed and another being arrested for drug possession.
Police said that during the stop, they learned Edward Albino, 39, of Brooklyn, N.Y., the driver, was wanted in Northampton County for a DUI-drug-related incident, and a passenger, Tyler Perez-Lafeir, 26, of Easton, was found to be in possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia.Police said Albino was transported to the Carbon County Prison in Nesquehoning, while the passenger was released and will face charges in the magisterial district office.
