State police at the Lehighton barracks are investigating an incident that was reported at 3:48 p.m. Thursday in the 500 block of the Kunkletown Road.

The victim is Joel Wyatt Thompson, 58, of Palmerton.He told police a projectile of unknown origin struck his windshield as he was traveling eastbound on the road.Police said someone threw an object of unknown size onto the vehicle, causing damage to the windshield.
