Jim Thorpe police are investigating an attempted motor vehicle theft.

Detective Lee Marzen said late Friday or early Saturday someone tried to steal a vehicle on East Sixth Street.Two attempted garage break-ins in the 500 block of Fern Street were also reported to the department Friday night.Anyone with information concerning these incidents is asked to call police at 570-325-4995.
