State police at Lehighton are investigating the theft of batteries.

Troopers said four, 12-volt batteries were removed from the rear of a truck owned by Chris Philip Metz, 36, of Lehighton, while it was parked at 150 White St., Weissport. No time frame for the theft was set.Troopers also reported that James Warren Vassas, 3 Potato Path Road, Kunkletown, reported the state registration plate on his vehicle was stolen sometime between Sept. 8 and 18, and somewhere between his home and Canada.The plate number is XFF3882.Anyone with information concerning either incident is asked to call troopers at 610-681-1850.
