A Saylorsburg juvenile faces assault charges after striking a police cruiser driven by trooper George Kerrick, of the Fern Ridge barracks, on Sunday.

Police said the juvenile failed to comply with a traffic stop, leading to a high-speed chase in the Birch Hollow Estates, Chestnuthill Township, at 8:47 p.m.After striking the cruiser, the juvenile was apprehended and transported to the Northampton County Detention Center.Charges were filed with the Monroe County Juvenile Probation Department.
