State police at Fern Ridge are investigating an assault incident.

Troopers said they responded to the incident at 7:30 a.m. on Oct. 7 along Akiba Road, a quarter-mile east of Route 715, in Chestnuthill Township.Troopers said a suspect struck the rear tire of the bike of James Capelle, 30, of Saylorsburg, with his vehicle, then punched and pepper maced Capelle.Troopers said the suspect is known to them and charges are pending.
