One of two Schuylkill County drivers involved in a crash at 12:25 p.m. on Oct. 21 was cited. State police at Schuylkill Haven said the crash occurred at the intersection of Route 61 and Bacon Street in Palo Alto borough.
Troopers said Michael L. Freed, 27, of Shenandoah, was driving a 2011 Ford F150 pickup northbound on 61 and failed to stop for a steady red light and entered the intersection. Linda M. Lehman, 67, of Pottsville, driving a 2002 Chrysler PT Cruiser, was proceeding through a green light off Bacon Street onto 61.The Ford struck the Chrysler on the driver's side front bumper and tire. Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.Lehman sustained a minor injury and was treated at the scene by a Pottsville EMS unit. Freed was not injured.Troopers said Freed was cited for a traffic control device violation.
