Five people were slightly injured in a two-vehicle crash that occurred at 7:10 p.m. Saturday along Route 61 in Palo Alto borough, Schuylkill County.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said John A. Lorence, 32, of Chesapeake, Virginia, was southbound in a 2014 Jeep Laredo while Henry J. Ryan Jr., 71, of Orwigsburg, was northbound, driving a 2013 Dodge Durango.Troopers said Lorence attempted to make a left turn onto Bacon Street and his Jeep was struck by the Dodge. After impact, the Dodge traveled in a northeast direction and struck the end of a temporary guide rail in a construction zone.Lorence, his passengers Jennifer G. Lorence, 32, and a 2-year-old male in a child safety seat were all not injured.Ryan and passengers Patricia A. Ryan, 65, Steven M. Ryan, 36, and two females, ages 12 and 15, all sustained minor injuries and were taken to the Schuylkill Medical Center-South Jackson Street, Pottsville. A 4-year-old female in the vehicle was not injured.Troopers cited Lorence in the incident. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
