Hazleton driver facing charges

Robert Vanemon, 36, of Hazleton, has been charged with driving under the influence following a traffic stop in McAdoo.

Police observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on East Blaine Street, straddling the double yellow lines, and initiated a traffic stop.Vanemon was identified as the driver and appeared to have been drinking. He was also driving with a suspended license and the vehicle's registration had expired. He was given, and failed, field sobriety tests, then taken for blood tests.The results of the blood tests indicate a blood-alcohol content of 0.152 percent, almost twice the legal limit of 0.08, as well as the presence of several drugs.He was charged with of DUI of both alcohol and a controlled substance and three summary traffic offenses.
