State police at Frackville reported on two crashes investigated by troopers in Schuylkill County.
A one-vehicle crash was reported at 5:35 a.m. Thursday along Interstate 81 in Ryan Township. Troopers said Tiffany J. Aguilar, 32, of Ashland, was driving a 1999 Ford Explorer northbound when a deer entered the road in front of her. She swerved to avoid the animal and lost control.The Ford slid across the left lane and onto the median, where it struck a tree and came to rest. Aguilar, who was wearing a seat belt, sustained minor cuts from broken glass but did not require medical attention. The Ford had to be towed from the scene.A one-vehicle crash occurred at 5:50 a.m. Oct. 21 along Route 61 in New Castle Township. Dallas J. Elsdon, 21, of Port Carbon, was driving a 1999 Chrysler 300 northbound, two miles south of Saint Clair, when he traveled onto the shoulder and struck a dirt and rock embankment. The vehicle traveled across both lanes and struck a guide rail along the right shoulder. After impact, the Chrysler flipped over onto its roof on the roadway.Elsdon was injured and taken to the Schuylkill Medical Center-South Jackson Street, Pottsville. The Chrysler was towed from the scene.Troopers said Elsdon was cited for motor vehicle code violations.
