An inmate at the Carbon County prison in Nesquehoning is facing drug counts.
Nesquehoning police said Ricky Elton Stevens, 31, has been charged with contraband/controlled substance in a prison, a felony two, and unlawful possession of a controlled substance-suboxone, an ungraded misdemeanor.On Oct. 7 Officer Carl Breiner received a call from a corrections officer at the prison who said he found Stevens in possession of illegal substances. Breiner responded to the prison and was told that prison officials learned that Stevens had a controlled substance in his belongings.A search was made and found were unopened boxes of suboxone. Stevens told Breiner he had no idea the suboxone was in his belongings and refused to speak further with the officer, invoking his right to an attorney.
