A Schuylkill County driver sustained a minor injury in a one-vehicle crash that occurred at 6:03 a.m. Thursday along Bethel Road, near Lancaster Avenue, in Pine Grove Township.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said John J. Cooper, 47, of Pine Grove, was driving a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 truck southbound and traveling up a steep grade behind a slower-moving tractor-trailer. Cooper crossed into the northbound lane to pass the slower-moving truck. As he was returning back to the southbound lane, his vehicle began to fishtail, causing him to lose control.The front of the Chevrolet struck an embankment along the northbound shoulder, then continued forward and rolled onto its roof. The vehicle came to rest on its roof.Cooper and passenger Clinton L. Cooper, 44, of Tremont, were able to crawl out of the vehicle. Cooper sustained a minor injury and was treated at the scene by Pine Grove ambulance personnel. Troopers said the roadway was wet in the area of the crash. The Chevrolet had to be towed from the scene.
