State police at the Frackville barracks said a tractor-trailer went out of control during the snowstorm on Wednesday, crashing on the Route 309 to Interstate 81 connector ramp in Kline Township.

The incident happened at 3:40 p.m. when Kenneth R. Thomas, 57, of Dallas, Texas, was driving the 2007 Peterbuilt rig too fast for the curved roadway and snowy conditions, police said.The rig slid off the right side of the roadway and struck the guiderail, downing four posts and damaging the rail.A tow truck was required to pull the tractor-trailer off of the low shoulder.Police said Thomas, who was not injured, will be cited for motor vehicle code violations.
