A Coaldale man has been cited in connection with a domestic abuse case that took place on Oct. 17.

Borough police were dispatched to 15 W. Ruddle St. at 9:48 a.m. to speak with a woman concerned about her son's possible drug use.The woman was sure that Michael Kabana, 24, who lives with her, was doing drugs in the house. She told officers there were numerous needles in a couch in his room.Officers also spoke with another woman at the house, identified as Michael's girlfriend. She had bruises and swelling to the right side of her face and lower lip, stating her boyfriend had struck her earlier in the day after she confronted him about the theft of her mother's medication. That was at 12:30 a.m.Officers were given permission to search the bedroom, where they found 15 needles, a grinder with suspected marijuana residue, three spoons, one white straw, a glass plate and a large scale.Kabana was charged with simple assault, harassment and possession of drug paraphernalia.
