Drivers are cited in Nesquehoning

Fourteen drivers were issued Motor Vehicle Code traffic and nontraffic citations by Nesquehoning police between Dec. 14 and 20.

On Dec. 14, a driver who was stopped on Route 209 was cited for failure to have required financial responsibility (insurance) and because his registration plate was suspended for insurance cancellation.On Dec. 15, two drivers were cited for incidents in the area of the school zone at the Panther Valley Elementary School. One driver was charged with careless driving while the other was issued a citation for having an expired inspection sticker.Between Dec. 15 and 20, 11 drivers were charged with speeding. Ten of them were cited after having been clocked at speeds ranging from 40-49 mph in a 25 mph zone at the intersection of Oak and Catawissa streets. The 11th driver was issued a ticket for being clocked at 75 mph in a 55 mph zone on Route 93.
