Tamaqua Police have cited Tyrell James Rucker, 24, of 12 S. Greenwood St., Tamaqua, in connection with a reported assault on Dec. 15.

At 3:30 p.m., Rucker called police to report that he had been assaulted by Timothy Gilette, 55, of 255 Cedar St., Tamaqua. Rucker said he was at Gilette's house, when he was suddenly punched in the head. There was a slight red mark near his left eye.Officers then went to the Cedar Street home and spoke with Gilette. His version was slightly different. According to Gilette, Rucker walked into his house, unannounced and unwanted. He then proceeded to the refrigerator, where he helped himself to some food. Rucker then went in to the living room, where he grabbed a game console out of a child's hand.Gilette told Rucker to leave the home. As Rucker left, he grabbed Gilette by the shirt and pulled him outside. Once outside, Rucker struck him and they then exchanged blows. A witness verified Gilette's version.Rucker was cited for harassment and disorderly conduct.
