A vehicle stop in Lower Towamensing Township over the weekend yielded a DUI charge.

Lehighton State Police said that at 11:38 a.m. Saturday, an 18-year-old male from Palmerton was operating his 1998 Subaru Legacy along Fireline Road at Golf Road when he was stopped for a vehicle code violation.The stop yielded that the operator of the vehicle was DUI by a controlled substance, and further investigation revealed he was also in possession of a controlled substance and paraphernalia.He was subsequently taken for a blood test.The matter remains under investigation, and charges will be filed pending lab results.
