A Kunkletown man was transported to Palmerton Hospital after a crash Saturday in Monroe County.

James D. Rabenold, 21, was going about 30 mph when his 1999 Honda Accord slid off an icy Lower Smith Gap Road in Eldred Township just before 8 p.m., according to state police at Lehighton.The vehicle struck a tree about 1 mile west of the road's intersection with Schaffer Road.Rabenold said he had neck pain and was transported from the scene by West End EMS.
