A driver was injured in a one-vehicle crash at 4:47 a.m. Friday along Kunkletown Road in Ross Township.

State police at Lehighton said Jason Vartuli, 38, of Andreas, was driving a 2003 Mercury Mountaineer eastbound, east of Weir Lake Road, when he traveled over a slight decline. The vehicle then crossed over the westbound lane, went onto the berm and into a wooded area, traveling into a ditch and striking an embankment.Vartuli sustained a laceration above his right eye and was transported to Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg by West End ambulance. Damages were termed heavy to the front end of the Mercury, which was towed.Troopers cited Vartuli for the crash.Blue Ridge Hook and Ladder volunteers assisted at the scene.
