Minor injuries in Schuylkill crash

Minor injuries were reported in a two-vehicle crash that occurred on Thursday at the intersection of Line and Oak streets in Girardville, Schuylkill County. It was one of two crashes investigated by state police at Frackville on that date.

Troopers said Grace L. Wolfe, 20, of Girardville, was traveling southbound on Line Street when Mariana R. Yagielniskie, 21, of Girardville, failed to remain stopped at a posted stop sign on Oak Street and entered the intersection.The front of Yagielniskie's 2002 Cadillac Seville struck the side of Wolfe's 2006 Hyundai Tucson. Wolfe was taken to the Schuylkill Medical Center-East Norwegian Street in Pottsville for treatment of minor injuries, while Yagielniskie declined treatment, also for minor injuries.Yagielniskie was cited for a stop sign violation.The second crash occurred at 12:50 p.m. along Route 61, south of the Mall Road in Blythe Township. Troopers said Marguerite A. Deangelis, 44, of Frackville, was northbound in a 2000 Mercury Cougar when the vehicle behind her failed to keep the proper distance and struck the rear of her vehicle. After impact the other driver fled northbound.Deangelis was not injured. The hit-and-run vehicle is a black pickup that should have heavy damage to the front end.
