Rush Township Police are awaiting the results of blood tests taken after a 7:54 a.m. crash on Friday. Officers were dispatched to Fairview Street, just east of Marian Avenue, for a crash involving a vehicle and a utility pole.

Christopher Arcand, 23, was driving east on Fairview Street in a silver Chrysler Sebring when he failed to negotiate a curve, struck the guardrail and then hit the pole, snapping it in two.Arcand showed signs of possible intoxication and was transported to Schuylkill Medical Center South in Pottsville for blood work.Charges are pending the results of those tests.The road was closed for almost an hour due to the pole and low-hanging wires in the traffic lane.
