A Schuylkill County driver was cited following a one-vehicle crash that occurred at 10 a.m. on Tuesday along Route 61 in Blythe Township, in an area commonly known as the "Frackville grade."
State police at Frackville said Chelsea M. Stephany, 21, of Mahanoy Plane, was driving a 2007 Jeep Liberty southbound and negotiating a tight right curve. The vehicle went onto the shoulder causing Stephany to lose control.The vehicle began to rotate clockwise 90 degrees, then slid across both southbound lanes and onto the opposite shoulder where it hit a rock embankment. After impact it spun 180 degrees, coming to rest straddling the right southbound lane.Stephany and her passenger, Enrique Melendez Jr., 21, also of Mahanoy Plane, were wearing seat belts and were not injured. The vehicle had to be towed.Stephany was cited for the crash, troopers added.
