Two vehicles were damaged in a crash at 10:33 a.m. Jan. 26 at the intersection of Route 209 and Polk Township Road in Polk Township.
State police at Lehighton said a 2014 Chevrolet Malibu driven by John J. Carfagna, 64, of Albrightsville, was northbound on Route 209 when a 2014 Nissan Frontier operated by John R. Higbee, 70, of Kunkletown, pulled out from a stop sign at Polk Township Road and struck the Malibu.The Frontier sustained functional damage to its front end while the Malibu received disabling damages to its rear driver's side wheel and axle.No one was injured in the crash, although Carfagna was transported as a precaution to Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, in the West End Ambulance.Police said Higbee was cited in the crash.
