A Jim Thorpe woman was charged with retail theft after confessing to stealing $82 worth of items from the Dollar General in Nesquehoning on Jan. 28.
Two white females entered the store around 1:45 p.m. While one female watched as a lookout, Ashlyn McCartney, 20, stole two packs of nails, a pack of nail glue, an electric hair straightener, a can of hairspray and a DVD player, according to Nesquehoning Police Chief Sean Smith.Smith and Jim Thorpe Police Det. Lee Marzen went to McCartney's residence the next day and searched her bedroom, where they found the stolen DVD player.McCartney gave police a full confession, according to Smith.
