A Monroe County woman has been charged with simple assault and harassment following an incident that occurred at 8:08 p.m. Jan. 23.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said officers were called to an apartment in the 1300 block of Route 611 in Mount Pocono, for a report of an assault. On scene officers were told by a male that his roommate, Catherine Buskirk, had assaulted him after arguing about rent. Police said they observed the male's mouth and nose bleeding.Buskirk was questioned and admitted striking the male. She was placed under arrest and taken to the county booking center and charged.
