A Schuylkill County man has been charged with simple assault and harassment as the result of a domestic dispute.

State police at Frackville said the incident occurred at 10:25 p.m. on Wednesday at 30 Jay Peak Lane, in Cove Village, North Union Township. Troopers said Jason Schmidt, 36, of Zion Grove, was arrested for assaulting a 28-year-old female.He was arraigned before a district judge and released on $5,000 unsecured bail.
