An Effort man faces a charge of resisting arrest and numerous traffic violations after an incident Tuesday in Chestnuthill Township.

Matthew McShane, 42, refused to give state police at Fern Ridge his driver's license, registration and insurance card after he was stopped on Route 115, just north of Weir Lake Road, at 12:44 a.m. for an expired inspection sticker.He also refused to get out of his truck. Police broke the driver's side window and forcibly removed him from the truck, according to a report released by police.McShane was taken to the state police barracks where his identity was found via a LiveScan program.He was then taken to Monroe County Correctional Facility to be arraigned. He was released after posting $2,500 bail.
